- Community planting
10 Lakh Vriksh programme (someone said it is more like an ‘aahvaan’, or in English a clarion call) is a plan for the people of Udaipur, by the people of Udaipur. We want the community to plant and nurture 1 million trees in and around Udaipur. This will give us green cover, but much more importantly, we hope that people will come together to learn from one another. This, in turn, will make us a resilient community.
Community planting is our attempt to bring people together; here we are the catalyst that enables you to build connections while planting.

And we are able to do this because we have been asking for help from many people who have all shown an eagerness to help. By passing on this knowledge, we repay our debt to those who have helped and taught us along the way. Did you know? That just by listening to people and allowing our brain to roam, you gain insights that you just can’t find in books or on Google.
Who can help us in this?
This is a community programme and we are expecting that people from the community, be it business, educational institute, government organisations, social groups of local people or media can contribute.
How can we support you?
Advice on what and where to plant
Providing saplings
Connecting you to tree guard suppliers
Support on how to take care of the tree connecting with others
An app where you can share your plant and its progress
Social media hashtags and accounts to connect with other people planting
Sharing stories of great volunteers Sharing knowledge
A blog sharing great ideas and best practice
